A mutual fund can lose substantial value, and your principal is not guaranteed. For its NAV to reach zero, the scheme's net assets after liabilities would effectively have to be exhausted. An AMC closing, a scheme winding up or an investment app failing are different events.

Yes, but you may not need to transfer the units at all. If they are held in Statement of Account form, another supported platform may be able to display the same folios. Demat holdings follow a depository transfer process. Selling and buying again is a separate route with possible tax and exit-load consequences.
